I typed in chapin.com and here I am. i have really liked reading
what I have so far. i am the product of a northwest Ohio farm
family and a German immigrant family from Cleveland, Ohio.
My mom, is a Muhlhan and my Dad, the Chapin. I have two
brothers and two sisters, all younger than I. Yes, I am the
dreaded “oldest” sister. Our Dad also died of alzheimer’s in
August, of this year. I am also a christian as is my youngest
sister. The other three are at this time undeclared, so prayer
would be appreciated. I have always, and still do live in Ohio.
Not a great world traveler but dream of a cruise to Alaska and
a trip to the Holy Land some day. I am the mother of three, two
daughters and a son, and three lovely and lively free -spirited,
grandaughters. I will visit your site again I am sure.

Hello, I was looking to buy a domain name for myself, and I noticed that you are not actually using chapin.com — and are simply redirecting it to yet another jesus blog. Any interest in selling chapin.com?

While it may look like we are not actually using chapin.com, actually we are using it for our personal email and have used it for that since 1992. Yes, that is before the world wide web as we know it. We may also use it for a family business in the future or for my author website once I get published – who knows. We don’t plan to sell it.

As with many of the other posts, I simply looked up my last name and found you. What a refreshment, to read about your line of questioning, follow your reasoning, and see your dedication to following the will of Christ! The Chapin heritage is full of Christian powerhouses, beginning back in Springfield, Massachussetts with Samuel Dee. My guess is that he is proud to have you in his lineage. This Cincinnati Chapin salutes you!

    Hi Elizabeth,
I was just checking on available Chapin sites and ran accross your blog – I was raised near our original homestead in Springfield, MA (my folks still live there). I am greatly encouraged that my namesake is a “Jesus Blog” having become a child of the king at age 20 after attending ZooMass in Amherst. I am also a life long learner and am in the process of moving out of the ‘burbs’ and back into the city as an urban church planter. We are tilling the long fallow ground of West Philly near UPenn & Drexel.

I have a two volume set of our Geneology handed down from my great Aunt Delia who lived with my great grandparents when she attended medical college. I’m pretty sure the family stories place her originally from Ohio. If you ever have a desire to network let me know – I’m on FB as Harold Chapin – Philadelphia
    Peace & Blessings – Harry

Juan, yes, it’s really my last name and of no relation to the Guatemalan word “chapin”. The origins of our surname go back to England.
